Why is Haas the best place to start your Tech career?
Situated in the world’s hub for technology, the Berkeley MBA can’t help being a tech MBA for those seeking to strengthen new economy enterprises with skills in product management and marketing, operations, finance, business development, and strategy.
The Haas Technology Club and broader Haas MBA give students a broad range of skills in data analysis, design thinking, and communications to imagine, justify, finance, produce, and market the next big thing.
Functions in the tech industry

Product Management (PM)
Product Management leads the development of new products. Given that tech companies are usually organized around products (e.g., Gmail, Google Maps), this is often the most important role within the company.
What you do all day: Learn about your audience, develop new concepts, create product blueprints, manage a cross-functional team to bring the product to life, review metrics
Business Operations (BizOps)
Think of BizOps as a company’s internal consulting agency. Whenever there are big, meaty questions to unpack, BizOps folks are brought in to crack the case.
What you do all day: Research questions, gather data, analyze data, make recommendations to stakeholders
Product Marketing Management (PMM)
Marketing solves the Field of Dreams problem: Wrongly assuming that if we just build it, they will come. By bringing the product directly to the market, marketers make sure that customers are actually aware of the latest and greatest.
What you do all day: Research your audience, plan campaigns, execute campaigns, measure results
Other
Roles
While PM, BizOps, and PMM roles are most common, there are a variety of non-technical tech jobs available for MBAs. You can learn more about them on websites like Break into Tech.
